“Keep your friends close
and your enemies closer.”
This is just a placeholder,

and I don’t believe it at all.
Enemies have a certain stench
That make me keep them

at an arms length at least.
I don’t care what they do
or what they say about me.

Might be best make this day
the sabbath – a day of poetry
rest and reflection – and

keep it holy.
